EMPLOY YOUNG ARTISANAL EYEWEAR MAKERS
MADE IN ITALY
AUÓR
Founded by close friends in Sydney, Australia; independent eyewear brand auór is crafted on slow, considered principles for a fairer impact on the environment. Handmade in Italy, and designed between London and New Zealand, each piece in their collection adopts a ‘less is more’ approach to creating real, quality eyewear.
Auór's frames are made from handmade premium cellulose acetate; a renewable non-petroleum plant-based plastic derived from natural cotton fibres and wood pulp. They are produced by family-run factory Mazzucchelli in Italy. Mazzucchelli employs local young artisans to keep the craft of eyewear making alive in the region, and are also part of the Institute for the protection of Italian workers.
Auór's outer packaging is made from recycled cardboard including the eyewear box and swing tags, and all orders are shipped in compostable bags. They are working on becoming more eco-friendly by replacing all PET and leather in their cases with alternative materials.
